Watch Carrie Underwood's New Opener For Sunday Night Football

Carrie Underwood is returning for the 13th season in a row to sing the opener for the NFL's Sunday Night Football, airing on NBC. Underwood's opener will debut on Sunday, September 7, ahead of the Ravens-Bills game, to kick off Sunday Night Football.

The new opener was filmed at Resorts World Theatre, where Underwood recently wrapped up her REFLECTION: The Las Vegas Residency.

"For the 20th season of SNF, we wanted to set the tone for the night by reimagining the anthem sound in a way that plays to Carrie's powerhouse vocals, while visually creating a seamless blend of stylized shots and behind-the-scenes moments evoking the national roadshow that is Sunday Night Football, week after week in the fall," says Tripp Dixon, creative director of the SNF show opening for 13 years.

"We had a blast shooting the new opening at The Resorts World Theatre again," adds Underwood. "As always, Tripp and the creative team continue to raise the bar, bringing the high energy and stunning visuals that the Sunday Night Football audience has come to expect year after year. I can't wait for the world to see it!"

Carrie Underwood And Her Future On 'American Idol'

Underwood has been part of NBC's Sunday Night Football for over a decade, but she also has appeared on another TV network. The mother of two completed her inaugural run as a judge on American Idol earlier this year, although she has yet to confirm if she will return for another season.

Fortunately, for Underwood fans, signs seem to be pointing to her becoming part of the franchise another year. Even fellow judge Luke Bryan seems to think it's likely Underwood will come back in 2026.

"I know she had a great time in the role. ... My prediction would be highly favorable," Bryan tells Taste of Country.

Underwood loved being part of American Idol, even if it was a challenge for her, especially as they began to eliminate contestants.

"It's nerves everywhere, but different kinds of nerves," Underwood tells Entertainment Tonight. "Because at the end of the day, I'm still here. I don't take it lightly that we have people's futures in our hands, and I really would like just America to vote. I don't want to be put in that position again."
