He just might cry while he does it.

"Halfway through the season, like Episode 5, I come in, and I mentor these kids through the end of the season," Jelly Roll says on Country Countdown USA. "You wanna see me be a snotbox, tune in to Idol. I'll be crying all over national television all year."

This won't be Jelly Roll's first appearance on American Idol. He has performed, and also mentored the contestants in Hawaii last season.

Jelly Roll will at least have good company while on American Idol. He is joined by two country music superstars, Carrie Underwood and Luke Bryan, who are judging this season along with Lionel Richie.

Jelly Roll's Career At An All-Time High

Jelly Roll's career is at an all-time high, with no plans of slowing down. The Nashville native recently sold out two back-to-back shows in the same city, a career first for him. Jelly Roll spoke out about the milestone on social media, while in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.

"I woke up this morning just overwhelmed with gratitude," Jelly Roll shares. "This is my first time doing two nights in the same arena, in any city in the world. I just did 60 arenas in America but I never had the privilege of doing two in a row ... I don't know what to say. This is history for me. This is literally the biggest thing I've done in my career yet."

Jelly Roll goes on to say that he has always dreamed about being able to sell out back-to-back nights, like so many country superstars have done.

"It's just crazy," Jelly Roll admits. "Over 30,000 tickets sold in Alberta. I love you all."

Jelly Roll recently celebrated his seventh No. 1 single, with "Liar." In addition to headlining his own shows, Jelly Roll will serve as the opening act on Post Malone's Big Ass Stadium Tour. Jelly Roll also recently opened his own bar, Jelly Roll's Goodnight Nashville, located in the heart of Music City.
