63-year-old Billy Ray Cyrus has spoken up since the Grammys and congratulated his estranged daughter Miley Cyrus on her win. The relationship Billy Ray has with his daughter, who won her third Grammy Sunday evening, has been pretty rocky lately. Despite the family drama, the singer of Achy Breaky Heart has revealed how proud he is of Miley.

It all came to light when Billy Ray sang at President Donald Trump's inauguration, which turned out to be disastrous. Miley then revealed that she hadn't spoken to her father in quite some time and she had no interest in repairing the relationship.

With this in mind, when Billy Ray wrote a message of congratulations, it was certainly unexpected. "Congratulations @mileycyrus and @beyonce on their well-deserved @recordingacademy Grammy wins!" he wrote on Instagram. Billy Ray also said he "couldn't be prouder."
Both Beyonce and Miley won Best Country Duo/Group Performance for their song II Most Wanted which Beyonce released in her country album Cowboy Carter.
Not only has Miley cut ties with her father, but so has her brother Trace Cyrus. Trace witnessed the mess that was his father's inauguration performance. Billy Ray was stumbling around and gave the worst rendition of Achy Breaky Heart fans ever heard. In response, Trace showed concern online, and Billy Ray reportedly threatened his son with legal action.
Since this bizarre incident, Billy Ray has asked for healing and called for a prayer. It's a strange situation all around, but perhaps this Instagram message was a way for Billy Ray to try and take steps to repair his relationship with Miley.
But the reports claiming that the Hannah Montana star isn't interested in fixing the relationship may hinder his efforts. Miley has also reportedly been trying to distance herself from the rest of her family if drama is involved.
The superstar seems pretty good at keeping this attitude, as last year Miley won her first two Grammys for her song Flowers. It seems she's on the right track with her music career, and steering clear of family drama may be the way to go.
